Our honorable Vice Chancellor
with the cleaning staff of AUW
Finally our most cherished day came
to show the achievement of our project to our beloved professors who have
supported us in every phase of our project. On 25 April 2014 we had a show
case of our project and we went one step ahead of our journey. Our honorable VC
Dr. Fahima Aziz was present there to be part of our happy moment and handover
the small gift to our enthusiastic students. That day our happiness was
boundless seeing our students' happiness. They were really happy working in AUW
which not only care about the students but also every faculty and staff who
work hard for the betterment of our university. Our cleaner Apus were looking
so beautiful that day. We could enjoy that happy moment because of our lovely
VC who took the initiative for this project, Professor Christian who came ahead
to guide us for the project, Ms. Fahria and Ms Sharmistha who supported us in
each and every phase of the project. Last but not the least me and my lovely
fellow students who worked hard till the last minute preparation for the
program. We are really fortunate being part of AUW and AUW Literacy Project.
Now we have a new name for our project to make it more near and dear. Our
project is now a program known as Aparajita
Bengali Literacy Program. We hope to keep the attention of our cleaner apus
in this program to be not only literate but also to know what is happening in
their surroundings with their power of knowledge.
On the program the cleaner apus enjoyed
a lot. Our professor Christian who only use English in our classes and rarely
knows Bengali, managed to speak in Bengali to make the cleaner apus understand
what his feeling was about the program and to express his respect for the
cleaner apus. The cleaner apus also shared their feeling after receiving the
prize. It is a great experience working with this lovely people of AUW.
